So we went to Memphis, but more importantly, we went to Graceland!! Elvis' house/mansion was so incredible. He had fabric on the walls and ceiling, horses in the backyard, and his own personal racquetball court! He loved racing golf-carts with his friends and playing piano whenever he got the chance. He was one cool dude that had received so many awards and honors in his lifetime. Truly an amazing human. :) Sorry I didn't take more pictures, but we were so overwhelmed, it was hard to soak everything in!! After Memphis, we drove through Arkansas, crossed the border into Texas to eat dinner and then continued down into Louisiana to spend the night!! Unfortunately, we couldn't get a picture of the Louisiana state sign (it actually came out so blurry). But I hope you enjoy what we DID capture! xx Plaidy PS: Just so you know, we have been in Houston since last Sunday, but we've been really busy apartment searching and getting our "sea legs" so just hang tight until I can post again!
FIND ME!!! I'm getting good at camouflaging!
Going to Graceland!
Elvis' TV set in his livingroom...white carpets wall to wall! Snazzy as always!
Just hanging in Elvis' basement! There were THREE TV sets installed in the wall so he could watch 3 different channels at the same time. And he had a sound system installed so he could hang with his pals! He was such a cool dude :)
We wish we could've seen him in concert, he was so rad <3 These costumes are amazing!
and then we spent all afternoon driving through Arkansas!
So Thursday, we spent the night somewhere in Tennessee and in the morning we drove to Nashville and spent the day! Fun sightseeing and good company :) The Grand Ole Opry was super cool, really neat architecture. The Willie Nelson museum was in the back of a gift shop, but we hung out with Willie (er...his cardboard cutout)! Then the Johnny Cash Museum was unbelievable, so much music and memorabilia! Afterwards, it was time for BBQ and then we hit the road. After Nashville, we wanted to spend the night in Memphis, but we ended up staying in Mississippi!! That's 8 states under our belt! Yeehaw!! <3 Plaidy
Antarctica and Dale let me drive for awhile :)
Antarctica and I spent our evening in Tennessee checking out what we can go visit!! Tomorrow is adventure time!
Just me and Willie hanging out, jamming, you know...totally an everyday thing.
So I have been having trouble with my Weebly app, but now my pictures are loading so I'm packing a lot in this blog!
On Wednesday, we were in Virginia and we went on a crazy sight-seeing adventure! From the Natural Bridge, to a Monacan Indian Village, to Foamhenge, to the zoo and beyond!! These pictures pretty much say it all, action and excitement, everyone had fun in Virginia :)
I'll post about Thursday as soon as we can have another break - today was also action-packed :)
Love, Plaidy
We MADE IT TO THE NATURAL BRIDGE!
Getting in the Virginia spirit!!
Ancient Arbor Vitae...oldest one known in existence!
Monarch butterfly? She joined us, looking at the grandeur of the Natural Bridge.
Ahh serene and beautiful, Antarctica snuck a picture of me soaking it all in!
Monacan Indian village
That's right!
I blend into my natural surroundings...where am I in this amazing 'replica' of Stonehenge?
Exactly.
Tada!! Find me!
Emu? Ostrich? Albino! That white one had the most beautiful blue eyes :)
So today was off to a great start! We almost got all the state signs, but during the border passing into Pennsylvania, the camera bugged out!! Oh well :) so we were in New Jersey this morning and then passed through Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and now we are driving through the Shanendoah Valley approaching our stop in Virginia for the evening. Tomorrow we start some sight-seeing!! Woohoo!
So holy guacamole, we are hitting the road tomorrow! Antarctica and I squeezed all our clothes and all our monster friends into the truck today and boy am I exhausted!! Can't wait to start this adventure!!
(I know you've seen this photo a million times, but it's my favorite!) I am about to leave on an adventure with Antarctica yet again! This time we are headed to Texas and it's not just for vacation :) Antarctica decided to take us monsters on the ride of our lives, over the fields and through the woods, driving down to Texas and then LIVING there! I am so excited, there are no words....except "YeeHaw!" Anyway, we leave in TWO days, so buckle up, the ride's about to start! xx Plaidy
